Question about 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette

Not starting.... My van won't start... on saturday ( 4 days ago) while driving- all the lights came on- the ones on the dash... the radio and AC went out... we continued to drive and then every thing started working normally. We got home and it was fine. We had the battery checked- the guy said it was low at first but then started running normal...and they tested the alternator too- and that tested fine... now today it won't start. no lights come on, and the van doesnt even turn over or try to start... what could this be?

We had the same problem the mechanic that tested the alternator forgot to plug it back in after he checked it cost us a new battery and towing before it was discovered what he had done. maybe you have a loose connection somewhere

Could be a bad battery cable or connection, including the ground cables.

Our 1998 Ford windstar has went all EXORCIST in dash board etc.

at the minimum, since you mentioned all the idiot lights coming on, your alternator is fried. have someone put in a new alternator. if it's still acting up, have someone go over the computer.

Doesnt always start, but lights, radio, AC/heat does come on.

First place to check is the battery. Old ones can push your lights , radio, etc, but the starter is the real load. . Can verify this by using jumper cables to a running vehicle and watch your machine fire right up! The reason mornings are the worst, is the battery has had the most time to discharge, and it is probably cooler outside.
