Try sraying it with abit of wd and or loosen it abit with a wrench.

I have a 99 Century, and have encountered the same problem. If you lift the hood, near the windshield there are two plastic vents, check to see that above and underneath them are free of leaves, acorns, etc. Once they are clean if it still squeaks, lift the plastic vents with the blower fan on high and give it a good spray of some kind of lubricant. (WD-40, Silicone, etc...) Hope it helps, it helped me.

Fan Blower Makes noise


Sounds like the fan needs to be replaced. But first, to check for obstructions, remove the carpet liner from the underside of the dash on the passenger side and you'll see the blower motor under the dash held in with three screws. If there's something obvious blocking it, remove it and reinstall the fan. If there's nothing blocking it, then you'll probably need to replace the fan. Any auto parts store, Rockauto.com or E-Bay will have the correct fan for your Grand Prix.

The heater does not heat up the truck (the heater core is OK). The truck idle isolates when cold, normal when it heats up. The waterpump squeels loud for about a minute when cold and stops squeeling...


You need to tighten your fan belt,loosen the top and bottom bolts on the alterntor and pry it side ways until it is tight.If it still squeels then do it again to make it tighter.

The heater fan on my 98 chevy silverado stopped working... worked on high at first but made a high pitched noise and stopped all together


Run 12V directly to the motor and see if it will run, if it dosent than the motor is bad, if it does than the resister is bad, the resister makes the blower run and also regulates the speeds for the blower, but chanses are if it was making a high pitch squeel before it quit the motor went out.

Blower Fan on 1989 Pathfinder is squeeling. How hard is the replacement?


its not that bad.
There are three screws that hold it up in the heater case, under/behind the glove box. You should be able to get to them without taking anything off.

Could be your altenator is going out? you can spray soap on the belt to make the squeel stop but you ge the altenator check. Most auto parts stores can check it for you with out having to remove it.

1st off the bearings are sealed, and the noise is a bearing noise, the fan motor in behind the glove box and quite easy to replace

Heater blower motor


On my '95 Trans Sport (I don;t think theere's any difference - under the hood - look about the middle of the firewall near the top. You'll see the motor & outer housing. There are 4 screws in the housing, but don't know if disconnecting & removing the screws will allow you withdraw the blower assy on the engine side of the firewall.
For me, I checked there was volts at the blower electrical connector.
There was, so I took a soft hammer and whacked the motor casing a few times. It started to turn, but with a squeel. So I whacked it more, the squeel lessened & the motor speeded up. So I just continued whacking from different directions until I seemed to have aligned things - max speed, no squeel. Seems to be working 100% now (for the time being).
If no volts at the motor connector, try whacking the blower relay at the upper portion of the firewall about a foot to the left of the blower. This worked as a temporary fix on my old '91 APV. Eventually it failed for good. The new relay fried in short order. Had to put in a higher Amps one. Also check the relay connector, mine was corroded out and had to be replaced as well.
