You have to get the old oil out , if you do not have the modified pan with oil screw , then you meed to get the oil sucked out , then put the new oil in , make sure that you do not put more than recomended

I just had my oil changed in my 2006 deisel smart..and yes it had to be pumped out as they don't have a drain plug on a lot of the older modls. I understand that the newer ones have a plug.

Hello. Yes you can change the oil and the filter yourself. Yes the oil does have to be siphoned out but you can use a simple siphoning bulb and hose to do that. Here is a link on this topic that you will find helpful. Joe
