If it is hot on the engine side and cold on the radiator side then most probable the water pump is nonfunctional. The water is not circulating and hence remains hot on the engine end and cold on the radiator end. The water pump needs immediate attention as the engine may get harmed if not rectified.

One side of heather hose gets hot

Turn the heater temp control to high, then other side will get hot as water flows thru heater.

Look for a loose to broken air hose for the drivers side damper motor.

Heater problem

Put a meat thermometer taped to the upper radiator hose by engine. Check temp when fully hot should be minimum 180 degrees or higher. Turn on full heat and see what the temp of your heater hoses are going through the fire wall they should be the same temp as the engine was. If one side of the heater is cold take off hoses when cold and hook to garden hose on cold side first and flush out heater core. I don't think thats it. If it is hot everywhere but inside one of your mode motors is not opening the right door under the dash when looked at from drivers side two motors. They are interchangeable but have to be calibrated

My truck is blowing cold air out the back vents and after about a minute of driving, the front air conditioner starts slowly blowing heat until if feels like the heater is full blast.....people have said...

There are a couple of different things that could cause the loss of heat. First make sure your radiator and overflow tank are full and at there specified levels. Run the engine till it reaches operating temperature( between 180 and 220 degrees). Feel the upper radiator hose and lover radiator hose , they should both be HOT , this lets you know your thermostat is working. If the top hose is hot and lower hose is cold. Replace the thermostat. If they are hot, check to see if both heater core hoses are hot ( 2 5/8 in black hoses heading into the firewall). If one side is hot and one side is cold, replace the heater core. If both are hot, you may have a broken cable or vacuum diaphragm that moves the direction control valve from hot to cold. Below are some example diagrams to help aid you in your diagnosis.

Heat on passager side driver side blows cold

check coolant level if ok run engine when hot feel hoses going to heater core if one hose is hot and one is cold you have a plugged up heater core hope this helps

What if the heater hose going in is hot and the heater hose coming out is cold.the heater will blow cold air

Possibly the heater core is 90% blocked. open enough to draw hot water in, (hose feels hot) but not enough volume to provide heat from very cold air, 10% hot water gets cold quick, coming from core..
Flush heater core in reverse direction - cold side in hot side out..

Just a theory..

Heater blows cold air, also defrost blows cold

check to see if your hoses to heater core are hot on both sides. my 93 hoses where hot going in the heater core but not out. I flushed the heater core now I have heat

I have an o2 altama and the heater does not work just cold air any suggestions

With the engine warm and the heat turned on, feel the hoses going through the firewall to the heater core. If one is hot and the other cold, you have a clogged heater core which must be backflushed to clear a blockage.

If the hoses are both cold, move up the hoses until you find a valve. This is the heater control valve. If it is hot on one side of the valve, that valve is clogged or shut. Investigate why the valve is not passing coolant - a clog or the actuator is broken/disconnected.

If both sides of the heater control valve are cold, replace the thermostat. While you have the thermostat housing open, make sure there are no blockages in the connection pipes.

Blowing Cold Air

Sounds like a heater core. Check the passenger side floor board. Sometimes when these go out there will be some water on the passenger side floor. Hope this helps some.
