Stalls rough idle

You have a vacuum leak that is altering the air /fuel mixture and producing high revs. Make sure that all the vacuum lines are connected including the one to the distributor. Turn the idle mixture screws all the way in then back out 2 1/2 turns . That should get the engine running enough to do a final tune of the carbys.

yes it can you need to find the leak. vacuum line also controls the fuel into the engine. also clean the idle vale and change the air filter. you can use some washing up liquid with some water in a spray bottle to find the leak if you cannot hear it. run engine and spray onto the vacuum lines when it starts to make bubbles there is the leak. sometimes if it is a bad leak it will suck up the water and leave a dry patch

Engine revs erratically, rythmi.cally when in neutral

A car's engine can surge for many reasons. Generally the ignition, wires, spark plugs, or the distributor rotor and cap will cause this problem. Another possibility is that your fuel filter is clogged. Injectors could also possibly be clogged on a high mileage vehicle. This is where a tune up can help your car. A vacuum leak can also cause surging problems. First inspect all hoses and fittings then around the carb or throttle body. Run the engine and spray carb cleaner on areas that could be leaking, the engine will die or speed up when you spray if there is a leak. A vacuum leak may or may not make your check engine light come on. Surging could come from a sensor problem or a leak causing the sensor to not operate correctly. It is always good to check your computer codes first if the light is on. This will help you to identify the problem area. You can buy gas additive such as carb/fuel inectore cleaners to see if that helps.

My boy has a 1993 mazda protege when he puts in drive engines stalls but not in rev.

There are several things that can cause this type of problem. The most common two problems are vacuum leaks, and a bad IAC (idle air control) I will tell you right up front there are several different names for the IAC, and this always causes confusion. It is basically a little servo motor that is controlled by the vehicles computer. It's job is to control the idle, and not let the engine die as it idles. If your vehicle has vacuum leaks on the intake manifold, or any of the vacuum lines then the IAC cant do its job, and the engine will die at an idle. The best way to proceed is to check for vacuum leaks with a can of WD40 run the engine and get someone to sit in the car and keep the engine running at the lowers steady speed you can keep it running at. Then spray the WD40 all around the intake manifold and vacuum lines. If you hit a vacuum leak the engine will speed up for a second or two. This method will allow you to find almost impossible to find vacuum leaks. If there are no apparent vacuum leaks then it it pretty safe to assume the IAC is the problem. Sometimes they are stuck, and if you spray them with carb cleaner you can free them up where they will work, but most of the time they just need to be replaced.

SHAKEING WHEN INDLING

You more than likely have a bad vacuum leak. Check all vacuum hoses for a leak. Make sure and check the brake booster hose. Using WD40 spray all connections with the engine running. When the engine revs you have found the leak.

My car dies when it get warm?

sounds like a your tie rod ends or ball joints are bad. as far as it turning off in gear means that the fuel injection is screwed up which means its a gas problem which is a intake problem with wrong fuel mixture or even a vacuum leak.

Car wont idle

you may have a vacuum leak, check all the vacuum lines around your inlet manifold, carbi etc for cracks or ones that have come off their fitting.
Check all the retaining bolts and nuts around the manifold, they may be a bit loose.

Idles rough

Check for engine vacuum leaks, most likely around the upper intake manifold arear, look for vacuum hoses that have come off or a missing vacuum port block off cap at the rear of the engine drivers side, large cap.
