Do you mean master cylinder ? the price depends on where you are. a master cylinder is the brain of the braking system. when you press the pedal, it's like you are putting brake on the handle bars of a bicycle. more pressure is applied because you are compressing / pushing on the brakes. it's all hydraulic and the cost goes with the territory

Why does the push rod on the clutch master cylinder keep breaking when trying to bleed the system on our 2001 Dodge Neon.

I think there may be two different types of master cylinders -- one uses a longer push rod than the other. If possible, check that the old part is exactly like the new one. If the old part is not available, try getting a knowledgeable parts person to check several year models up and down from yours to see if a different part number exists.

How do you know when your brake master cylinder is going otut in a 2005 ford focus

Turn on engine! Pump the brake pedal 3 or 4 times and stop with pedal depressed and firm! If the pedal starts to go down then the master cylinder needs looking at!

What's the break bleeding sequence for a 2006 scion xb? I was told left front, rear right, right front, left rear, like a cross pattern. Is this true?

I believe the bleeding pattern for any vehicle is furthest from the master cylinder first and so on the xb it would be rear pass 1st, rear driver 2nd, front pass. 3rd, and front driver last.

Windows on 300d wount work with doors shut but will with doors open why please

The wiring passes from the fuse box to the master switch in the drivers door thru a rubber boot. In time thhe wires may break and only work in a certain position. You can slide this boot off and check these wires closely to see if they have a problem. If all looks ok I would pull the door card and see if you have a corroded connection at the master switch. Thanks for asking at

How do you remove the Camry 96 power window master switch? Do you have to remove the door panel? Thanks.

is this a 1996?? If so, the switch may be removed w/o the removing the door panel. Use a flat tip screw driver to pry the lower part upward. Be careful not to break the clip, they are fragile. Hopefully this help!!

Brakes problem 1996 Toyota 4Runner 6 cyl Four

When you said, the bleed valve had to be loosed before the caliper would release, (caliper is already replaced), then we know there was a lot of preasure in the braking lines backed up some where,
and every time the brakes are applied to compress the the caliper to stop your truck,
the preasure would not release,
Is a clear indication that the Flexible Rubber Brake Hose attached to the caliper is backed up, clogged, kinked, etc..
That would be the next item in the brake system to check.
Its Bottom Up Disagnostics...
When the hose is off try to slide a strong piece of wire (metal clothes hanger) through the hose..

Replace Rubber Brake Line's, on both sides.
I reccomend Stainless Steel Braided Brake Line.

Here is a video that kinda shows corrosion in a rubber hose.

I have a 1995 toyota avolon and all the widows quit working the fuses are good and the drivers main switch is good it's jsut not getting any power to it. Please help

Go to a auto junkyard or " used auto parts yard" and ask for the master control for the power windows chances are over the years rain has gotten down into the contacts and burnt out the main switch. Replace the Master control switch panel on the driver door.

Brake pedal went to the floor. have some brake left but it does not seem to be leaking fluid

Visiually check the rear breaks and if it is not leaking you the need master cylinder replace. When replacing a master cylinder don't forget to bleed for trap air also.

1995 chevy z71 k1500 350. breaks wont work

"have put all new breaks, lines, sensors." For the Mechanic to get the brake fluid in the line to the calibers. It has to be pump by stepping on the brakes pedal. You said "no breaks" so that did not happen.

My question is does the master cylinder work? A lot of work was done that was not needed to be done.
The Dealer will not do any thing if they did not work on the brakes. If the Dealer did this job then you can complain about them.

The black box you are referring to is call ABS control module. It should be on under the hood on the driver side of the radiator. These units do fail.
You can go the the Auto store and ask, if they carry it then they will know where it is locate. You can also go to Dealer parts department, they will carry the part and can show you where it is locate.
If you do replace the control module, make sure the brake line is properly bleed of all air.
I do hope this help you

I dont know where to put the oil for the gear box

Brake fluid is the same fluid you put in the clutch master cylinder. Any mechanic will verify this.
