I would try a filter replacing and then a BG flush, this flush is done by a bg machine, google bg flush and read a little bit about it, we use this machine and it works great, this is not a miracle worker but it helps. this machine has helped a lot of our customers and some it didnt, i think its worth a try. hope this helps.

No 3th or 4th gear , auto trans

auto tranys look somewhat like a jet engine with blades that a pushed by trany fluid. In 3rd or fourth gear these BANDS are damaged. looks like a trany overhaul.

Drives okay in 2 gear but if I put it into drive is revs like neutral after 2nd gear 2000 sunfire 2.2 auto

You might check your transmission fluid level... but I'm thinking it is more serious than that.

I have a eclipse 96 I tried to repair the

did you change fluid and filter this is just as important as an engine oil change. also a automatic transmission has things called bands that change the gears and hold overdrive in they also need adjusting every 30,000 miles. if not they will cause your transm, ission to slip. and burn up atf fluid.

Transmission

I know you don't want to hear this but theis transmission has failed, the clutch pack for gears 3&4 has failed, the trans will need an opverhaul.
