If the abs light is on then the abs sensors will surely need cleaning or replacement if necessary. It's a sign of a faulty abs.

Check and clean the sensors at each wheel, then check wiring from each sensor

When I press on the brakes it sounds like its clunking through gears. But when the ABS lite is on the brakes works great


the sound that you hear are the abs working sadly its normal but it mean it works properly. when the abs light is on it mean that your abs is not functioning that's why you don't hear the clunking sound

If you pull the abs fuse it will disable them. You will have the yellow abs lite on and the red brake lite on tho.

Sounds like you have an ABS Fault (either shuttle valve, wheel bearing or ABS sensor) as well as a potential injector loom issue (which can be tested by looking at the Red Connector on the ECU, if you have Oil there, you need a new injector loom).
