Your problem is likely due to either the oil pressure sending unit (inexpensive, easy fix) or your oil pump (expensive, big job). Try tracing the wire to the sending unit, then check the wire at the connection. These sometimes have an intermittent short due to a frayed wire or loose connection. If the wire and connection seem OK, pick up a new sending unit from your dealer or parts store and install it. If that doesn't clear the problem you may need to replace the oil pump.

Hey, posible cause could be either a faulty oil pressure sensor, oil pump, or main and connecting bearing.

2003 echo oil light flickers

Well it could be an oil pressure problem, or a faulty oil pressure switch, or something in the wiring harness.
I would have the oil pressure checked with a mechanical gauge.

At 28,066 dealer oil change. At 28,778 dealer flushed engine to remove sludge build up and changed oil. At 30,835 miles inspection, dealer flushed engine to clean out sludge and changed oil. At 34,630...

First dealer was NOT doing you any justice. Next oil change run a can of GUNK engine flush let idle 5-10 mins then change Oil & Filter and use a good oil like Castrol or Valvoline 10w-30. You won't have "supposed" sludge build up.

My lasabre is slow in shifting. What can be the problem

When was the last time you changed the tranny fluid and filter and how many miles are on the car? You should have this changed every 15 to 20 thousand miles, sometimes the manufacturer will recommend sooner. If it were my car, I would take it somewhere and have it flushed and have the filter changed. Pull the dip stick out and if it isn't a nice red, the oil is really bad. Take it somewhere and have it flushed out and cleaned.

Engine oil light comes on. Then the engine dies and the battery light comes on as well. The car seems to run fine at lower rpms, but ooccasionally the engine oil light will flicker. Engine seems to be...

It could be a clogged oil pickup or the oil pump may be not supplying enough oil pressure to the engine, causing the engine to stall. I would have the pressure checked to see if the oil pressure is within specs. Maybe a new engine oil pump will be required.

The temp. of the engine may have to do with the coolant/antifreeze system needing to be flushed, or the fan not turning on at the proper temperature.

If the fuel filter were clogged, I would think the car wouldn't run.

Have the codes for the engine scanned with an obd-II compliant scanner, in order to determine what other problems may be present.

Good luck on these repairs.

Maintenance or Rip Off

you'll still have a filter to stop particals out the air entering the engine but this is very easy to do yourself (filters cost between £10-£15) some redex in the fuel tank will clean your injectors ( cost around £5) you are right about 100,000 miles before tranny needs a flush but you could prob do with engine flush + oil and oil filter changed ( engine flush around £10 oil filter upto £20) all easy to DIY don't get ripped sorry i only know english prices but should be able to work out us with current exchange rate . Hope this helps
