2003 mazda protege 5 transmission problem

My 2003 protege 5 is acting up at 115 kms/hr. At this speed it tries to drop back a gear and makes and awful noise. I had it to a transmission "expert" and had it scanned, He stated it was the speed sensor, I had this replaced, it worked for 2 weeks and now the problem is back. When the car is acting up at this speed my AT light flashes and my ABS and E Brake lights also stay on. I can get in the car another time and there sre no issues but then after driving for 20 mins to 1/2 hour my ABS and E brake lights come on then the transmission acks up. Please HELP!

It sounds as if you may have a short in the wire harness, or a bad plug on one of the sensors. This is common. Make sure the sensor connections are clean then use die-electric grease on them where they make contact.

You are going to need a transmission shop. Mazdas do not always throw codes. You have an early OBD transmission, which do not send out many codes.

Transmission slipping making noise

If u keep it below 25 miles an hour you should make it, but this loud noise worries me, this noise means something is coming apart, if it does it may lock the trans up, so keep the speed down.

Cruise control

If the car is manual than make sure you have it in 5th gear over 60 km/h and if it's automatic.. your on your own!
