Question about 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier
I have worked on alot of cavaliers older and newer and most of the time when they shut them self off and wont start or you turn them off and they wont restart is usually the fuel pump, A new one will run you about 250.00 dollars and usually only have a 1 year warranty. The way to check the pump is to take off the gas tank lid but your ear real close to the nozzle and have someone turn the ignition key to the on possition and listen for a humming sound if you dont hear nothing then it is safe to say that the fuel pump have went out. hope this helps.
