Practically nothing on your car is easier to do than replace the front pads. Go to Autozone.com they have a repair section on their website. Put in make and model and navigate to Brake system R/R

If you go to www.autozone.com you can get the instructions to replace the brake linings. You will have to go to the repair section of the webpage and enter your car's information. This is a very good site with pictures and explainations of the repairs. If you have troubles I can send you the information via email. Just email me at akelley411@hotmail.com Hope this helps.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

check for vaccuum leaks.. try spraying brake cleaner around the lines and see if it changes anything with the idle spped.. if it sucks in some it will chug while you spray it.. That helps locate a leak..

Grinding of front brakes on a 98 Ford escort. What does it mean and what is the cost for the possible repairs

You need a front brake job based on what your discription.
The grinding noise indicates you've worn through the pads and more than likley have damaged the rotors.
It will run approx. $250.00 to have it done by a professional, or do it yourself in the $100.00 range.

I am replacing the front disc brakes on a 1999 escort

i shall help u by telling the procedure. first remove the brake cable from the caliper. now check for the dusts if any and re insert into the disc caliper now bleed the brake master cylinder. strongly kick the brake.keep it in pressed condition and pour in the brake oil. now release the brake pedal and push it for two times and then release.now the oil will be evenly distributed into your master cylinder. To be noted that connection goes directly from brakes master cylinder to the brake pedal. from the brake master cylinder the connection goes to the two wheels(front).check for any oil leakage.

1998 ford escort wagon brake lights out. bulbs and fuses changed.

Sounds like your brake light switch has gone bad. It is located on your brake pedal and is easy to change and relatively inexpensive. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!

Need to change brake lights on the car.

Open your trunk, you will see 2 screws that retain the brake light lens. Pull the felt on the side down, and you will see 2 plastic snap in clips. Remove the 2 screws and then use a pair of pliers to compress the plastic snap in clips to release them. From there you can remove the lens and replace the bulbs.

Instructions to change the brakes

look for 2 bolts or pins that go right thru the calipers, they actually retain the pads, normally the heads will be on the back side of the caliper. take them out, there may be thin metal clips (springy) on top of the pads. remove them too. slide out pads working the caliper back and forth to loosen them up. open up fluid resevoir then with a large screwdriver push the brake piston back so as to be able to get new pads it, bolt it all back and your are done.

How do you bleed the brakes on a 98 ford escort zx2?

There is NO 1 particular screw.. Theres 4.. One on each wheel cylinder on the rear.. and one on each caliper on the front.. If ya dont know this.. then ya probably need to let a shop do it.. Ya have to start at the fartherest point away from the master cylinder. and work from farther.. to closer.. Its not easy if ya never done it..

Loud squeaking brakes.

If they are wearing down, they may squeak, and some brakes have a metallic part that will come in contact with the rotor when the wear gets to a certian point making an awful squeaking sound telling you that mabe you should change 'em soon, eh
