    Hi Dan,
My Drivers window went down and would not come up and is now held up from inside with wood until i can get it fixed :o(
since then the problems have begun...
Sometimes the central locking works and other times not and immobiliser sign comes on and takes ages to start car.
The main problem is like you say the relays and it seems to make the temp, time and date on display stay on when i lock the car???

    Hi Dan,
Had AA out to jump start battery as went flat drove round and was told to dis connect battery when i got home to stop it wearing down again.
I did this and when i connected the battery 3hrs later the problems had gone and everything worked, now i am back to square one the following morning with the clicking sound and radio panel on and no exterior temp or radio....
I will try and check what you said but where do i find the relays that may be sticking?
    Andy

Hi

trhe ticking noise is the relays, however the most likely cause of this fault is the drivers door wiring, very common Peuegot fault with opening and closing the door the wires within the black plastic sleave start to wear and then contact each other, do you electric windows work? central locking? had any issues with these at all? is there anything electrical that sometimes works and sometimes does not?

Regards
Dan

    Hi

try and disconect the door wiring completely, if you look it will twist around and then disconnect. if the problems stop once you have done this then you know it is because of the door wiring. I would certianly look at this first as in 80% of cases this is the issue. Secondly take a look at your main black earth cable from your car battery a poor connection, or rusted/corroded cable again will cause this.

Get back to me once you have looked at these things.

p.s the relays may be loose, I have seen before where the fuel pump relay has worked loose from the board and even when you push it all the way in you think it is secure but on the back of the fuse box it pushes the wires out so still a poor connection.

    Regards
    Dan

    Hi Andy

Go to this website >> Peugeot 406 Owners, If you copy and past this link into your internet browser it will open on the page showing the exposed fuse box and the relays behind it. http://www.406oc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1...

Hello, i have a 2L peugeot 406 glx 2000 W reg blower motor is intermittent i have the motor out its ok the one with no control module could you tell me please of any common fault and where the module would...

I beleve all vehicles would have a blower motor resistor. Go to your parts place and ask them for a price on the blower motor resistor and ask for a print out location, they will give you one. Resistor is normally located around the motor.

I just bought a 2002 registered peugeot 406 estate glx - I am not sure whetehr ther is an alarm and imobiliser and how it works as my remote key entry is not working. Can you help.

The alarm is set when you either lock the car with the door locks or using the key and ofcourse the fob, there is usually a red light that comes on when the alarm is set, somewhere on teh dash

Peugeot 406 GLX cooling fans

there is a sensor on the radiator that when it becomes faulty can go either way i.e working constant or not working at all. try removing one wire from that sensor, if the fan doesn't come on thats the fault.
