Question about 2002 Chrysler Sebring
My sebring 2002 is fine on the road but the engine sounds knoking
Change oil and filter. Use a synthetic blend oil, add 1/2 pint of marvel mystery oil, and drive for a short time, 30 minutes or so. If knock continues, the damage is already happened. Use only synthetic blend or synthetic oil in the 2.7 litre engine.

If you have a 2.7 engine then you have yourself a very large paperweight. The 2.7 is the problem child of chrysler. If you go over 3,000 miles on your oil change then the sludge builds up really bad in that motor causeing it to knock and go dead soon. A replacement reman motor is somewhere arounf $6,000 and that is just for the engine not the labor to put it in. Good luck.

You need to start by changing your oil and filter. Then test drive it to see if it still makes that sound. If it does, call around and find an auto repair shop that will give you the best deal on engine code read.
