94 Jettas have a anti-theft kill switch. It can mimik the starter or alternator. Lock all the doors with them closed, then unlock the drivers side with the key. Wait about two min then try cranking it. Should start up instantly, if not reset the computer.

I just experienced the same problem and it turns out its the timing belt. I've never heard of this before, but when I pulled the cover off the belt was broken. Not sure if any other problems exist (still need to make the repair), but thought I'd share.

If you have power when you turn your key. Then you need to check your starter solenoid. If you don’t check your battery first. There is no way to start your car without your starter. And you will have to remove it to test it.

Vw ignition problems

The ignition switch is the main electrical switch in your car. When a key is placed inside the ignition and turned, it is supposed to start your vehicle's engine. you may encounter problems with the ignition switch. The process of fixing it is the same for all vehicles. If your Honda has an automatic transmission, make sure it is in park. The key will not turn in the ignition otherwise.

My 2006 vw jetta needs transmission fluid. The manual says I have to take it into a vw dealership however, the closest one is two hours away. Can I add the fluid myself and how?

How to check transmission fluid level

Most 1995-on VW models don't have a transmission fluid dipstick for checking the transmission fluid level. To fill and check the level of the VW automatic transmission fluid you have to remove a plug on the side or bottom (location depends on model and if you have an automatic vs. manual transmission) of the transmission drain pan. The factory manual refers the expensive VAG 1924 special tool for pumping the VW automatic transmission fluid into the oil pan.

I got a 94 jetta that was giving me problems every time I went to start the car, I had to crank it maybe 20 times before the car started and now the car doesn't get any spark, we changed everything that...

The only other classic problem for this series is a defective ignition switch. These were a cheap plastic unit that would fail electrically after a decade or so. Beyond that, you'll need a sharp VW mechanic, in my opinion. Do you have the factory manual? There are flow charts within for no spark/start condition.

Turn ignition key but won't start..All power on, is it starter?

Can be a Junk Relay, access is limited, but giving the Starter a "crack" with a mallet, often cures the problem temporarily. But check the Battery terminals, and Cable to the Starter solenoid ,first for tightness and security.

1994 vw jetta no fuel and ignition

It sounds like you may need an ignition contact block. It turns everything on. If all the idiot lights come on when you turn the key to on. Then move the key to start the engine. Note the engine can turn over but no ignition power or fuel can be do to the contacts in the block. Take notice if the idiot lights stay on, or turns off when you crank the engine to start. The lights should stay on.
The contact block is not an easy fix and can take a few hours. The procedures are found online. Steve
