Google Make, Model, year CV Axel nut torque. The spec you cite, is not right, that is the troque of the engine at that speed!

TIGHT... I normally go to 100-120ft/lbs Then take a Chisel where the Notch is in the Axle and hit the Lip of the NUT down and you will not have to worry about it.

Head torque and pattern

The S-10 had two (2) different head bolts, a long bolt and a short one . The torque on the long one is 46ft./lbs. and an additional 90 degrees . The short one is 43ft./lbs. and an additional 90 degrees .

Looking at the head from the front of the vehicle, follow this torque sequence :
Start with the center bolt on the passengers side (left side of the head), followed by the center bolt on the drivers side (right side of the head) . Then torque the bolt behind the center bolt on the passengr side . Next torque the bolt in front of the center bolt on the drivers side . Then torque the bolt behind the center bolt on the drivers side . Next torque the bolt in front of the center bolt on the passeger side . The torque the last bolt on the drivers side, followed by the front bolt on the passenger side, followed by the last bolt on the passenger side, and lastly, the front bolt on the drivers side .

174-231 ft lbs. I would stay closer to 174.

1989 toyota corolla base 4-door manual tranny, drivers side drive shaft has play in transmission side, both the driveshaft and transaxle bearings look okay, what else is there? what keeps those shafts...

There is a large lock nut that holds the axle into the splined end inside the transaxle. This nut is usually torqued into place very well though, but if it is loose or was not torqued properly then this could cause free-play in the axle. You can look up the torque specs online or use a chilton or Haynes manual to get the specification.

If you are looking for the spec on the large nut for the CV axle to hub it is 180 ftlbs

Where is the vehicle speed sensor located on a 95 mercury sable 3.0...please be very specific and a diagram or picture would be greatly appreciated.

It is in the end of the transmission on the top. Look where the passenger side CV shaft comes out and look back toward the drivers side from there. It is on top tucked under the rear exhaust manifold.

Passenger side cv axle keeps breaking

Contact your local parts store. Some are the same and some are different. I believe that the passenger axle shaft is longer than the drivers side.

1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera SL 2.2 head bolts torque and sequence

you have long bolts and short bolts, long bolts go in positions 1,4,5,8,9 - short bolts remaining positions, all long bolts go in back of engine, toward fire wall or front of dash, those are positions starting at passenger side to drivers side, 8,4,1,5,9, so 1 is in the center position, 9 on drivers side. short bolts in front, positions passenger side 7, 3, 2, 6,10, stud is in position 10. Tighten bolts in sequence, starting at 1, long bolts get 32Nm, short bolts get 29Nm, next pass torque all to 58NM, than final pass add an angle of 100 degrees, little more than 1/4 turn with wrench. Bolts should have 11.9 on head, the tightening specification is called a torque plus angle to yield, that is why in your gasket kit is tells you to replace the bolts, it is recommended. I know, because I am the GM Manager for fastening engineering. Hope this helps
