I am having a transmission problem too. I have changed the fluid and the oil and nothing is working. My 1999 Hyundai Elantra won't gear up when I'm driving it. It is very loud and it sounds like it could go at anytime. I need to know if it is the transmission going out or if there is something electrical that I should be looking for. I don't have an owner's manual for the car. I only paid $2000 for it four years ago and it's got 130k miles on it so I don't want so put a load of money into it.

1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4 wheel drive transmission, need to know what years and models will exchange please.

Transmission or transfer case? Transfer case is a NP231 or NP231HD, depending on the configuration. Both are interchangeable and should have been the same transfer case from '94 to 2001 but can guarantee from '98.5 to 2001.

Transmission problem

There are only a few connectors that need plugged in. The first one is the solenoid pack which has eight wires and a bolt that goes through the connector. then the range sensor which will be located by the shifter shaft, will have either round or flat spade like pins. The wiring is the same only difference is the connnector; you may need to get a matching plug if the new one doesn't match your vehicle's harness. Then there are two speed sensor plugs that are small simple push in plugs that have two wires each. You may or may not have a crank sensor to plug in, if you do it will plug in kind of on top of the bell housing more towards the firewall. That should be it.
