Considering it is a 2008 vehicle i would go to a mechanic and have them take a loot at the vehicle codes and see if anything come us. better to get it repaired properly then to have the ticking sound get worse.

Have a 2006 chrysler 300, 3.5 with loud ticking noise during acceleration, also experiencing loss of power. Replaced both rocker assemblies and performance improved but ticking is still there.

sounds like bad valve seats or seals do you have a oil pressure gauge on your dash.check the pressure.then check your return ports on top of the head thats giving you the problem see if the oil is returning to the oil pan.sometimes the return ports become blocked and the oil stays on top of the head.and see if the oil supply is making up to the head.hope this helps.mark

Oil pump been replaced, knock senser and oil sending unit. oil light comes on and load ticking ,when its cold started on my 98 nissan altima

Go back to where you got the work done if you can.If not then i would get the oil preasure checked as the low light tells me the preasure is below 8 psi and the ticking is from the lash adjustors at the tappets verifys low preasure too.

Ticking noise in engine

This may not be your answer, but we had something very simular if not thsame. We thought it was the engine, and as time went on, oil changes, etc. We ran into the previous owner of the car. He told us it was the catallitic (SP) converter. The canister was loose. Either tighten it if you can or remove or replace. Hope this helps. It sounded a lot scarier than it was.

Engine starts and stops ticking

Sounds like oil pressure problems to me. Check to make sure your oil level is correct. If the oil level is OK get the engine checked by a professional.

I have a 2003 Chevy Impala. I ran my car with no oil and now I'm hearing a loud ticking/knocking noise coming from under my valve cover. I added 2 bottles of oil after finding out that I didnt have any...

might be the valves have been damaged running without oil
- or the crankshaft / camshaft / main bearings
most probably you have to let the engine be rebuilt by a mechanic
(expect cost of more than US$ 2.000)
or get another (used) engine at a scrapyard 2003-chevy-wutfveiel3ypko01ydor435x-5-0.jpg 2003-chevy-wutfveiel3ypko01ydor435x-5-2.jpg

The oil pump may have gone bad. Involves dropping the oil pan and replacing the oil pump, check the pan for any metal peices.

Vortec 4.3 Ticking that is present at start-up and speeds up as I accelerate, what would cause this?

If you have good oil pressure, a few things come to mind, first it could be a loose rocker, secound it could be a woren or broken rocker, third it could be a weak or calaps lifter. If it sounds like its lower in the engine like around the oil pan it could be a rod or maine problem. But you say its a ticking noise witch leads me to believe its a valve trane problem.

if it's a top end tick from the engine. probably because oil ran down and it just needs to lubricate the head again.
