Why OD light Flashing , not engaging transmission, loss of power?

Not quite sure. I would have some one read the computer memory to get a code number. Has the trany fluid and filter been replaced? The code number stored in memory will give you a better result to repair the cause. Does the trany shift up and down by itself normaly? What mialage is on car? Check the rpm guage to see when the trany shifts gears in normal driving. Hope this helps. Best I can do now.

Trany does not go in to over drive. over drive light flashs. trany dont slip

you need to get the transmission control unit reset, it must have a fault with it in the final drive control. Get it checked after it has been reset. You need a Diagnostic checker to reset it.

1.Can a flashing hold light/faulty mass air flow sensor burn the clutches in a transmission? 2.if vehicle reves out after changing into second gear and transmission is rebuilt and problem still persist...

The ecm would not cause this, it sounds like someone did a poor rebuild, if the engining is reving and the car doesnt what to go then the clutches may be bad, a mass are flow would not cause a trany to go bad, the flashing hold light is a problem but should not be happening after the trany was just rebuilt, something is not right here, the trany was just rebuilt and now the hold light flashes and the motor rev going into 2nd gear, that trany has problems a bad ecm wouuldnt cause this slipping reving problem you are having , i would have a trany shop check to see if that trany was really rebuit.

No 3th or 4th gear , auto trans

auto tranys look somewhat like a jet engine with blades that a pushed by trany fluid. In 3rd or fourth gear these BANDS are damaged. looks like a trany overhaul.

99 ford explorer OD off light begins to flash, usually comes on at about the same place on my trip to work and the same place on my trip back home to my acrerage. If I stop on the way home at a store it...

If the OD light is flashing that means there's a problem with the transmission. There should be a code set in the onboard computer. I would get it to a trany shop and have it checked out, it could very well be something simple. If ignore it the trany will most likely fail.

Tow haul flashing, shifts like the tow haul buttons been pushed, but shift hard

If that light is flashing that means there is a problem with the trany. If you continue to drive it, it will damage the trany. I suggest you get it into a trany shop as soon as possible. I guess, I would take it to a private shop, that specializes in automatic transmissions, instead of taking it to a dealer.
