You're Best Bet is talk to You're Friend the Mechanic, I'm sure He can get you a Print out of the Wiring Diag for you're Car, Give Him 5 bucks for his Trouble , All Wiring Diagrams will list the Color code of each and every wire in the System that You are working on, There is never any Short cuts When working on Vehicle Wiring, Take You're Time and Make sure You Solder All Connections , and Wrap With Electricians Tape Since Shorts Happen and You could FRY the Entire SYSTEM if not done right, not to mention Shorting out You're cars Ignition Computer, But I am supsed that the Remote Starter You are trying to install did not come With A wiring Match Diagram to Install in You're Car
Well know the wire you replaced would have helped a little more but I am going to take a guess and say you melted a wire more than likely to to high amperage. This usually means that there is a shorting problem in the system. Trace to what the wire went to or came from and you'll probably find that you burned that component up. It still doesn't tell you why it happened though so you'll have to diagnose why the wire burned or melted in the first place.
According to ford truck forums online, the constant battery wire may be lite green and purple, the switched power may be pink and lite green, and the ground is black and lite green. The battery wire is for memory. Is that what you need to know ?
All you need to do is get the power, ground, and antenna hooked up then start with two colors matching, example: one purple and one black with purple line hook those up to a matching speaker wire then turn stereo on and go to balance setting choose back left if speaker does not sound then go back right and if speaker does not sound then try front speaker right and then left once you find correct speaker move on to next two matching remember to. Mark wires FL or fr or bl or back right. Good luck
Check the plug wiring again on the truck. You have a wire crossed , when you hit the lights and it only blows with the trailer, then there is a crossed wire on the truck. What seems to be happening is your sending power to the ground for the trailer. You can check the trailers ground with an ohm meter, then make sure your truck ground matches that pin. You may know this , but green rght turn, yellow is left turn, brown is parking lights, black is brake lights, and white is ground.
match the blacks up they will be your grounds and the green is a ground too I believe as far as the other wires go. In the truck turn on the signals and parking lights and have somebody push the brakes matching up wires till everything works right. Do one thing at a time its not as hard as it sounds.
does this model have the built in amp? brownred may be the clock. do you know what each of the wires on the stereo controls? if you know this i can help you.
either way give me a list of the colors you dont know
