You can locate the horizontal fuel-conditioning module (HFCM) mounted to the frame rail underneath the driver's seat. Place a drain pan under the HFCM. Turn the fuel drain lever outwards and let the HFCM drain into the pan until clean fuel is observed coming from the module, then close the drain lever. I have heard of people having to do this 2 or 3 times over the course of a week to get the light to remain off. It may be a good idea to replace the filter element while you are in there as follows: Remove the fuel-filter lid from the HFCM with an adjustable wrench turned in a counterclockwise direction. Place the lid aside. Pull the old fuel filter from the HFCM and clean the filter mating surfaces with a clean rag. Insert a new filter element into the HFMC until it is fully seated. Remove the old "O" ring gasket from the fuel-filter lid and discard it. Stretch a new "O" ring gasket (included with a new fuel filter) over the lid and work it into the groove. Lubricate the gasket with clean diesel fuel applied with your finger. Tighten the cap in a clockwise direction onto the HFCM with an adjustable wrench. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle. Open the hood and remove the fuel-filter housing lid on top of the engine with an adjustable wrench turned in a counterclockwise direction. Lift the old fuel-filter element from the housing and clean the filter mating surfaces with a clean rag. Push a new filter element into the housing until it is fully seated. Replace the "O" ring gasket on the lid in the same fashion as the HFCM fuel-filter lid and lubricate with diesel fuel. Screw the lid back on and tighten with an adjustable wrench. Close the hood.
