Door lock cause of dead battery

A dead battery, one recent cold morning, found me at the service shop. Tests indicated the system was charging properly with no battery drain. I asked if the test were done with the doors locked. They were not. A second test (car locked), revealed a misaligned trunk lock switch. Switch repaired, battery charged, problem solved.

MY BATTERY DIES AND MY REMOTE START WONT WORK. I TRIED THE TRUNK AND LOCK BUTTON AND CHECKED THE SWITCH AND IT STILL WONT START.... HELP PLEASE ITS COLD OUT SIDE

Use a proper key to open the door, pop the hood and put the battery on to charge.

Remote starters are notorious for causing problems.

The battery is almost bead, the car won't start, how do I jump start my touareg 2006 V6

place the positive lead from the jump battery to the positive terminal of the dead battery. take the negative lead from the jump battery and place it on the engine or other metal point--- NOT TO THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL OF THE BATTERY-- If you do then you run a real risk of a power surge that will fry the ECM
However with a dead battery if the cells are failed then the power from the jump battery will probably feed the dead short in the dead battery and it may not work
Best have a load test done on the dead battery to see if it is faulty (cold weather) or just flat

1970 GTO big block with MSD ignition. Starts fine from cold. Once warm the engine dies and all electrical items are dead (dome lights, gauges) with no ability to restart. Once cold, the engine can

You'll need to trace the electrical from the battery to the starter and key switch when it goes dead. Could be a connection at the starter or in the harness.

The battery will not hold a charge. Took it to Service center two years ago for a new battery but said the battery was now fully charged and I did not need a new one. BUT since that time the car would not...

you can upgrade your battery,i suggest that you do so. the more cold cranking amps on your battery the better.if theres an advance auto parts store near you they will have what you need and also install it for free. autozone does the same thing also. it's true when it gets cold it drags the charge down on a battery.a battery can check good in the summer and be bad in the winter.suggest that you have it changed out with new battery with 650 or 750 cold cranking amps. it will say so on the top of your new battery so don't be taken advantage of. thank you for choosing fixya.com oncallmech

Cars battery was dead after jump starting the car

The cold air is not related to the battery trouble.

I order for your car to MAKE electricity, there must be some power in the battery. If your battery is dead, when you jump it, you can run the starter motor but if you dont put electricity back into the battery, the alternator will not make power. And ... you have the blower on consuming any power that might be remaining in the poor battery.

You might need a new battery and you might need a new alternator in your 15 year old Park Avenue.

Dead car battery

a battery has whats called cold cranking amps and depending on how cold it is and the cca's, you may just need a stronger battery because cold weather does drain power from the battery

Battery drained dead in ocld weather

Could be both batteries went bad.
1) I would take battery back to where you bought it and have them test.
2) Check, or have someone check, that battery power is not being used when the key is off and the car is not being used in any way. There will be a slight trickle of power use, but nothing that would wear the battery down in less than 3-4 weeks.
