Question about 2004 Nissan Murano
The P0340 is a camshaft sensor code, the sensor is located in the front (passengers ) side of the engine, there should be two sensor's one for each camshaft, (front of each head) defective cam sensor's can cause the the problems of stalling and hard starting. I am a Nissan certified tech and replaced a good number of cam sensors in the past, they are quit easy to replace, they are attached by one ten millimeter headed bolt (per sensor) remove the bolt then work the sensor clockwise and counter clockwise while pulling out, there is a o ring seal on the sensor and when installing the new one lightly lube o ring before installing, then install sensor and be sure it fully seated against the mounting surface before installing the bolt or you will break the mounting ear of your new sensor. thanks for using fixya
