I have 84 ramcharger started fine used for about 1/2 hour plowwing driveway shut off would not restart until cooled off 2nd time it has done this?

Sounds as if the ignition control module is getting hot and not allowing it to restart. Had the same issue with a Dodge b-250 van, except for the plowing part. It would run for about an hour and start sputtering and shut off. After it cooled down, van would start and run great for the same length of time and do it again.

Why does my 2003 pontiac sunfire lose all power while driving

That can be the symptom of a bad Ignition Control Module, or also a bad crank position sensor. The ICM can be taken off and tested for free at any parts store. The crank sensor circuit can be tested on the car with a multi-meter. Also small motors (like a fuel pump motor) that are starting to fail can sometimes work until they get hot and then stop working until they cool down again.

Next time the car shuts down and won't restart, check for spark on a spark plug wire with the engine cranking over. If you have no spark, suspect the ignition control module or the crank position sensor. If you still have spark, but won't start, check if the fuel pump is putting gas up to the engine.

Why won't 1999 vw beetle restart when hot

More detail is needed. Does the engine crank but will not start? How long will it take to cool down and restart after the engine has been warm and shut off? Does it attempt to fire but not stay running, or just crank without any sign of ignition (engine attempting to start)?

A friend has a boat with a 350 Chevy engine that starts, but runs rough at first, then seems to run fine after being warmed up. However, when it is shut off, several times it would not turn over at all and...

most boat engines run under a cover unless they are racing boats and that creates a heated environment to operate in
items such as coils , ignition modules etc are subject to over heating components
from you description it is possible that when shutting down the engine , the heat in the compartment may be causing the coil /ignition module to fail and hinder the restart
indicated by the restart after it cools down and with the rough running when first started ( moisture in the distributor cap)
if it has a carby , could also be suffering from vapor lock in the line to the carby( an inline filter at the carby may reduce that problem) from lack of cooling in the compartment
as a last resort consider ventilation of the compartment to assist with engine area cooling

Engine shuts down

The only way to know for sure is to hook a gauge to the rail and check the fuel pressure when it won't start.
Sitting for a few minutes and restarting is normally a sign of a relay or coil cooling off.
There should be a EEC relay that powers the dist module and ECM.
I know you said you have spark, but it could be something else
related.
Also, if you have spark at the right time and no fuel pressure, you should be able to use starting fluid to substitute.
I don't suppose you have dual tanks and the switching valve is the problem ?

I know this sounds silly but Replace the crankshaft position sensor. My guess is it will start shutting itself off soon and restarting when it cools off. I think its just giving you a warning lol.
