Might be a bad Oil pressure sensor or a weak oil pump and when the car idles the pump even if it spins but the power is low but after you push the Gas then the RPMS goes up and the pump spins fast the pressure gets higher. Good luck

When i come to a stop my gage lite comes on and my oil pressure, drops to zero, any other time i have good oil pressure..could it be a vaccum hose????

No. could be, Oil never changed, oil hasn't been changed in a long time, along with the filter, plugged oil passage to the oil sending unit, or dirt/sludge in the oil sending unit. Could also be that the engine has really high miles and the bearings are worn.

Oil pressure drop

If you know for a fact the sending unit is working and you do have 35psi when the engine is hot, it could be the gauge on the dash. You may need to install an external gauge, manual or electric. Or replace the cluster.

While drivingoil pressure is at 40. after half hour of highway driving oil pressure drops to 0 or below. i stop and restart oil pressure comes back. ideas?

Could be the Oil Pressure Sending Unit. I do recall GMC having issues with the instrument cluster on 2003's. Try slapping the dash when the gage reads zero.

2000 Durango: oil pressure works for a few minutes then drops to...

What engine in your Durango? Most likely you have debris on your oil pan clogging the pickup screen, or a failing pump.
Be sure to verify with a mechanical pressure gage that oil pressure is indeed dropping before you take oil pan off.

Oil gage drops to 0

You may have a bad oil pressure sending unit. The kit they are talking about, I believe is a rebuild kit, not the entire pump. Usally the kit consists of a couple rotors and seals. You would take the old parts out the oil pump housing, and install the new ones. But you want to make sure that all the clearances are within specs. I'd try the sending unit first.

After oil change, pressure gage drops to zero and check gages light comes on after running for five minutes. oil is still full though.

Remove, check and replace the Oil Pressure Sensor. It should be located adjacent to the Oil Filter.

My Check Gage light came on and my oil pressure dropped to zero. The gage went up and down and final went all of the way down. I hear a bad knock in my engine and I have not lost any oil.

Typical Chrysler issue....I am going to assume you may have the 4.7L motor...2 possible issues: HEAVY oil sludge in engine (death to engine pretty much) and/or your oil pump needs replacing. Lastly, just throwing this one out there as it happened to me..oil sending unit gone bad.
