2004 kia rio high and low beams not working. Fuse keeps blowing. Can't isolate a problem.

have you examined all of your headlight bulb sockets for any heat/fire damage? even if not, pull the bulbs, and use an appropriate headlight socket insulating grease to reduce temps and avoid corrosion.

when headlight bulbs are changed, it is suggested to use a socket grease insulator to seal them from humidity/corrosion AND to lower socket temps. without this grease, the headlight sockets could possibly catch fire and/or melt, and, if the exposed wiring then shorts, it would blow a fuse.

Right headlight socket appears to have melted on rear. Prior to this, headlight was was intermittently going out.

Bad wiring connections heat up due to high resistance, replace the bulb and socket and ensure all connections are tight, usually the earth wire that causes the problem.

Right headlight not working

Check the bulb socket to make sure it's making good contact. Even add some dielectric grease to possibly help. Most sockets will melt and not be able to see it till you remove the bulb.

2001 chevy monte carlo headlight socket problem, PLEASE HELP!

pull the rubber seal off they are more like rubber caps and they come off to change the bulbs.

However for a completely melted socket I would go to a salvage yard and pull the whole assembly so the socket comes with it. They are cheap and very easy to pull. Because I would be concerned about a melted socket and I personally would not even put bulbs in I would just get the whole assembly from the salvage yard.

Here is how to pull the whole assembly: look under the plastic flap on the front under the hood there is a white tab. The flap is right next to the headlight and just lifts up. Then on the other side of the headlight assembly there is another white tab and is more visible and you may have noticed it before. Press both of those tabs and be careful not to drop it because it will come loose. Then just disconnect the plug and you are now ready to either replace it or replace the bulbs. This just makes it easier to replace the bulbs then just reverse what you did and don't forget to plug em back in.
One other thing don't touch the bulbs with your bare hands use latex gloves because if they are halogen then fingerprint oil don't agree with them and can blow them.
The whole thing is not that hard just take your time and you won't have to pay anyone to do it for you.

2004 chevy malibu headlight harness

Find out the model of the light bulb you use and go to an auto parts store. Tell them you need a plug for bulb type xyz. Then just cut and splice the wires together, matching which wire goes where from the faulty plug. Should get the part for under $10.

Check for melted wiring at socket. If aftermarket blue bulbs were used the plug will melt. You can but the plug with wiring and cut old one off.

Talk to your dealership and/or your vehicle manufacture. However, the dealer - it's parts department - should know because your problem can't be unique - and if they don't know, then the manufacture definitely will know.
