Have some one turn the key while you listen into your gas tank. take off the gas cap and listen in there you should hear a whinning sound or buzzing sound when the key is turned it will only last a few seconds then turn off but if you hear it its turning on.However just because it turns on does not mean its good it could be weak and not be building up enough fuel pressure to run your vehicle. To test this you would need to connect a fuel pressure tester to the fuel railing and test the pressure and compare it to specifications. If you dont hear any sound then check your fuses to make sure they are good.Another thing i like to do is spray starting fluid into the throttle body if it starts and then dies you definitely have fuel problems.

When you put the key in the ignition and turn it until the dash lights come on then you should hear a noise coming from the gas tank and it should make a noise for like 4 seconds. if you dont hear it then you may wanna check the fuse and the relay. Good luck

Have you checked fuel pressure with a gauge ?
Is the check engine light on ?
Will it rev up in park or neutral ?
Normal exhaust flow ?

02 spectra no power at fule pump and inj fuse

The pump relay should have four terminals. Number 2 is a green red wire which powers the pump from a 10 amp fuse. Number 3 goes to the pump. Number 1 powers the magnet in the relay and number 4 is the ground signal from the engine computer. If the relay does not engage on its own, one of these circuits is not working.
The injectors get power from that 15amp fuse which gets power from the main relay.
The problem could be farther upstream with the 25amp main fuse.

1990 olds 98 suddenly dies. starter spray into inj. cover starts it but then immediately dies again. fuel pump and cannister filter ok. new module filter off inj. line under hood. still won't start. w

You cant check fuel pressure that way. You have to connect a fuel pressure guage to the fuel rail at the schrader valve. It should have 30-40psi when ignition is turned on. Injectors not functioning properly will cause a misfire Sounds like a fuel pump or fuel going out.

My 3406b caterpillar engine is having excessively high oil levels

HI,
Time to find out why your oil level is going up.
Either coolant in the oil, or fuel in the oil.
Which ever it is the cat engine is not happy. My suggestion would be to get an oil sample test.
Any major diesel repair place will help. Just a little oil in a sterile jar to be analyzed for contaminants.
Coolant is the worst as it will scour the bearings.
Good thing you are concerned.

97 dodge grand caravan 3.3 L no power to fuel inj and fuel pump engine runs fine on starting fluid. Eatx relay seems to be the problem

If it runs fine on starting fluid, then it points to a fuel pump or circuit being bad.

Good luck.

Have a 1992 chevy 1500 truck fuel pump works fine when hooked directly to the battery, replaced fuel pump relay, still no power to the fuel pump, engine turns over fine

maybe check the fuse for the injectors...i was being stupid and did this, if that fuse is missing it wont work even if your fuel pump works fine. i think its labeled inj a+b.
