Changing 1999 intrigue water pump

I don't know how close this engine is to the Aurora engine, but I did mine. It did take a special tool, but I was able to rent it for free from Autozone. Overall, pretty easy to replace.

Install water pump on 3.1 buick engine

Visit the website and register the car information. It doesn't cost anything and you will have access to an online repair manual for the car. The steps for replacing the water pump should be available there. It's a handy resource. Hope this helped and best wishes.

How do you replace the timing belt?

Not going to like my answer here, but without any expertise in auto mechanics, I would caution you to let someone else do it. In most cases, (don't know this specific car), involves removal of water pump, pretty extensive work. And often should do other work at same time.

(as an example, in 1990s Honda Accords, it was advised to change the water pump when replacing the timing belt. All of the labor was already there, just a "relatively" small charge for the water pump itself.)

Instructions to change a timing belt would be to difficult to post here. If you have a strong desire to do it yourself, get a manual like Chiltons or Hayes with instructions and pictures.

Need to replace water pump

It's not an impossible job, but too long to write out instructions. I suggest that you get an inexpensive manual for your car (haynes is about $20) and follow instructions there. If you run into any specific problems, give me a shout! (just curious ...why are you changing the pump?)
