I smell gas, but not all the time. It is most when my car idles for a minute. I have not noticed a gas leak.

This issue may be caused by a faulty fuel pressure regulator... next time you smell gas, pop the hood and look at the lines running to your regulator and you may notice gas leaking on the metal line running from your tank to the regulator. this would indicate that you need to replace the regulator; should cost about $250-$300

Fuel sending unit mazda millenia 1998

Well, yes the tank is under pressure at times, but the gauge problem is probably the sending unit.
Every few minutes the computer tries to vent the tank to the vapor canister and the engine which would be affected by the leaking gasket.
You will probably need to replace the sending unit and then you can fix the seal too. Once the seal is disturbed it usually does not fit the hole.

Engine back fires and has gas smell in oil

Sounds like a leaking or stuck open fuel injector might be allowing gas to leak down into the crankcase, thinning the oil.

Ruff idle was wondring if problem could be/ o2 sensor/trottle control / I disconnected the MAF sensor and noticed that it is a little better but still ruff idle . From time to time . Example when i come...

The basics for a rough idle, check for a leak of some kind, fuel--egr--vacuum.
Use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, see if pressure will hold for a bit with everything off. If it drops like a rock, you have a fuel pressure leak. Check the vac line on fuel pressure regulator, where applicable, if it has gas in it, the regulator is faulty.
Smell of your crankcase oil dipstick, does it smell like gas? If so, either you don't change oil and filter very often or there is a fuel leak getting into your oil.
Any applicable trouble codes?

Smells gas after idling

The fuel pressure regulator may be bad and leaking gas on the intake manifold. It's a cylinder shape with a vacuum line and it's connected to the fuel injector rails. When the diaphragm goes bad in the regulator, gas will leak from it and on to the engine, which give you the smell of gas through out the car when it's running. Good luck and keep me posted, Auto Zone sell them for around $15.00 and that can give you the step by step instructions with common tolls and takes about 15 to replace.

Grand am smells like gas inside the car

I would definatly recheck the regulator to make certain you do not have any leaks.
But to be clear, you are smelling gas and not exhaust?
Also, is you cowl seal in good shape, not missing or damaged in any way?
Let me know.
