Question about Chrysler PT Cruiser

1 Answer

I have a 2006 chrysler pt sedan. When I bought it recently the dealer had to recharge the battery. After about three days not starting the car the battery was dead again. I replaced the battery but still after 3 days the battery dies and I have to jump start the car. I assume there is a power draw somewhere. how can I find it? Thks Max

Try disconnecting the alternator wires first in case its a diode pack with a diode gone done causing the current to run back to earth .

2006 PT Limited. Engine Malfunction light is on.

First off, it's NOT the crank position sensor...Unless you've pulled the motor recently!
Get down to Advance Auto Parts and buy a car of "SeaFoam" ($9) and add it to your tank per instructions...drive AT LEAST 100 miles...problem should go away.
If not, your O2 sensor in the exhaust (x3) is faulty...look to spend $200-400 depending on your mechanic...DO NOT GO TO THE DEALER!
Good Luck

The air quit blowing cold for two weeks then started again, three weeks later quit then a week later started working.

Sounds to me like its time to go to a service shop and have your AC recharged, it could be that the amount of refrigerant in your AC system is low, possibly depleted. I would go have that checked out, there is not much that you can do personally unless you are liscensed to handle/recharge refrigerant systems, if in that case your in luck.

Good place to start, but If you check directly with Chrysler there may be a technical service bulletin, that isn't posted yet. Have the codes cleared when work done, and see what happens.
