SOURCE: engine light on code p0732, p1782, p1787 and p0700 twice

P0732 Gear 2 Incorrect ratio
P1782 P/ES Circuit Out Of Self Test Range
P1787 2-1 Downshift Error
P0700 Transmission Control System (MIL Request) Malfunction

Here is the deal, u have some serious transmission related faults, in order to sort this out u will need to take this to the dealer, allot of testing is required to get to the bottom of this, if I had to guess I would say the trans is going to have to be overhauled.

SOURCE: what does code 1-p0650 mean?

P0650 Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Control Circuit Malfunction

Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is located on the instrument panel. When the ignition switch is turned ON without engine running, MIL will light up. This is a bulb check. When the engine is started, MIL should go off. If MIL remains on, the on board diagnostic system has detected an engine system malfunction.

Possible Causes:

  • Harness or connectors (MIL circuit is open or shorted.)
  • MIL bulb may be faulty

    SOURCE: Engine codes for 2001 Chrysler Sebring P0442 455 and 1685

    PO442 means you have a small leak in your EVAP system. Most common cause is a bad gas cap, replace the gas cap with a factory gas cap,after market fail or does not conform to the OEM EVAP system. Other cause would be small leaks in the EVAP vacuum lines. P0445 is also related to the EVAP system and has detected a large leak in the system. Start with the gas cap as mentioned above. P1685 Is an issue with the ignition not recognizing the ignition keys and the car's ignition immobilizer my activate leaving the car not being able to start. That's going to have to be a Dealer repair. Good luck and hope this helps.

    P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction OBD-II Trouble Code Technical Description Article by Dale Toalston ASE Certified Technician Transmission Control System TCS Malfunction What does that mean? Many vehicles have a control module for the automatic transmission called a transmission control module (TCM). The engine control module (ECM) communicates with the TCM to monitor the automatic transmission for faults. If the TCM detects a fault in the automatic transmission and sets a transmission related fault code, the ECM is informed of this also and sets a P0700 in the ECM memory. This illuminates the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) to let the driver know there is a problem. If this code is present and the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) is illuminated that basically means there is at least one transmission code set in the TCM's memory. P0700 is an informational code only. It doesn't point to a direct fault in the engine, only a general fault in the transmission. More diagnosis is necessary to identify what the transmission fault is. This requires a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission module. Symptoms Symptoms of a P0700 DTC may include: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination The transmission may exhibit drivability problems like slipping, etc. Causes More often then not, the cause of this code is that there is a transmission problem of some kind. The TCM detected the problem and set a code. P0700 means that a fault code is stored in the TCM. However this doesn't rule out the possibility of a failed PCM or TCM (unlikely). Possible Solutions For a P0700 the only real solution is to acquire a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission control module. Extracting this code from the TCM will be the first step in repairing the fault in the transmission. If the TCM compatible scan tool will not communicate with the Transmission Control Module then that is a good indication that there may be a fault with the TCM itself. 2004 Chrysler Sebring won't start with P0700 error code

    Code P0700 just means the trans computer has a code. You need to have the trans computer read to get the trans code p0034 the rubber turbo hose to the inlet manifold which had a small split in it causing it to loose pressure these codes will not make your car not start check battery to see if its dead again does the engine turn over at all when you put battery back in car is terminals tight

    0700 code gets stuck in 2nd gear

    Hi, the 0700 code is not explanatory, Code P0700 simply means that there is a code stored in the transmission control unit which sounds like you are in a limp mode. The first thing we need to do is get these codes. They will have to be read with a code reader or scan tool. Almost all parts stores will read codes for free. If you could have the codes read and come back and post them here I'll be able to tell you what to do to fix it.

    During a DMV inspection my vehicle failed because of these codes: P0401,P0700,P1739. What should I do? and what is the estimated cost?

    P0401=EGR valve insufficient flow
    P0700=transmission control system malfunction
    P1739=transmission control module controller circuit

    Get the EGR valve checked. It may be that a vacuum line is off. But worst case, say you need a new EGR valve. You can price one at autozone.com. Then find out what a shop would charge for labor to put it in. The transmission codes may be intermittant faults. If your car seems to be running fine, reset the codes and they may not come back until after your test, if ever. If the codes come right back, you'll have to take it to a transmission shop for check out. Any major auto parts store has a code reader that can reset your codes for free.

    Just to be clear, have all your work done and then reset your codes. Then you will have to drive your car normally for a few days before taking your DMV inspection. There is a test they will run to see if enough drive cycles (a start, run, and shut down=one cycle) have been accomplished after a code reset. This prevents people from resetting the codes and immediately taking the test without any work being done.

    2001 honda odyessy has the following trouble codes: P1491, P0401,P1739. It has also been turning over longer before starting and has cut off while in park and idling. What does this mean?

    P1491= "exhaust gas recirculation valve insufficient lift."
    P0401= "exhaust gas recirculation insufficient flow"
    P1739= ""3rd clutch pressure switch" (automatic transmission code)

    the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve is vacuum operated. there may be a vacuum line that is broken or leaking or become detached from the EGR valve. any vacuum leak will cause the engine to run lean, leading to poor starting and idle cut-off due to lean fuel fuel mixture.

    The EGR valve has a vacuum diaphragm inside it. this diaphragm could be leaking. the EGR valve will need to be replaced if this is the case.

    The P1739 code shows that a problem with the 3rd clutch pressure switch or the wiring leading to the switch has been detected. It may be an intermittent fault. Reset the trouble codes and drive for a while and see if this code returns. If so, check the wiring and switch operation of the 3rd clutch switch.
