Question about Kia Spectra
If you have checked all Fuses and Relays under the Hood and inside the Passenger Compartment and all are good, then you would check the Brake Light Switch. Normally located on the Steering Column, or on the floorboard generally located at the top and back of the Break Pedal. The Break Light Switch is the most common problem in this case. Hope this helps.

hello what i would do first disconnect the wires off the brake light switch test the power wire to make sure you have power to the switch if you do contact them to bypass the switch completely test see if your lights are lit if not i would trace the wiring back to the sockets contacts inside might be corroded or wires in the socket are not contacting the metal tab or broken at the crimp they sell replacement sockets you can splice into the harness if you dont have power at the break light wires you need to trace wires back to fuse panel first check to make sure there is not a secondary fuse box under your hood usually on drivers side near the strut tower usally says fuses goodluck please rate

You have to check the brake light switch which should be around the brake pedal on the upperside.
Ones located rremove the wires tht go to the switch and jump them by using a piece of wire, thn check if the brake lights come 'on'. If they do , thn its the switch tht may need replacing or even sometimes adjusting inorder to operate.
Hope this helps.
