Question about BMW 318
The drive belt on the BMW 318i is a single serpentine belt. A serpentine belt is one complete belt that operates all of the front engine accessories at the same time. The crankshaft is the component that drives the serpentine belt around each pulley. The belt has raised ribs on the inside that travel inside of the grooves on each accessory pulley.
