Pontiac Grand AM 2001 - How to reset the warning lights?

My pontiac has electrical problems with the warning lights. Every time I take it to a mechanic and get the warning lights fixed, they come back on in less than a week. I have gotten them fixed more than 10 times. I just want to reset them so I can get a car inspection. Does any one know how I can reset the warning lights in my car?

You can disconnect the battery and they may stay off for a limited time. Also a computer at an auto shop will reset them. But they will come back on until you fix the problem.

If the "service soon" is turn on, this is a warning about "maintenance time" (filter and fluids change); this warning light isn't the same that "check engine".

Hope helps.

you can go to advance auto and use there scanner for free to clear the code its called an obd2 connection or when you disconnect your battery you can touch your black negative cable to your red positive cable that connects to the battery and it will completley drain everything and reset but warning you if your trying to get the car through emissions your gonna have to drive the car 50 or 100 miles after you disconnect the battery each time..
