The epc light comes on the odd time, in my 2004 audi a3. I cannot find the manual. I am interested in knowing what it means?

Unless you have a scan tool or have a friend that has one. You will need to send it in for diagnostics. A code reader may provide some information but will not show live data. The EPC warning light, also known as the Electronic Power Control warning light. The PCM has identified a fault with your Volkswagen's throttle system. The throttle pedal, throttle body, traction control, cruise control or wiring could be to blame.

That sounds like a bad connection. Check all connections for the EPC system from the accelerator pedal TPS to the throttle body itself. If that fails you could have a wire in the loom that is broken and makes inertmitent contacts.

That is the throttle control. It is an electronic part that changes position when you step on the gas pedal. Replace it.

try diconnecting battery for few minutes and then reconnecting ,sometimes this will clear it...simple thing sometimes work great.........good luck and hope this helps.

First of all you need to access the Engine Control Module (ECM) using suitable diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car, in order to pull out all DTC's memored. DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code. Then you will bu full informed about the root cause of the problem, and you will be able to repair & replace bad pieces and reset the ECM. Then the engine light & EPC (Electronic Pedal Control) yellow light will turn OFF.

check secondary fuel pump .have sensor make sure the fuel presure is ok . the air mass is properly connect . engine upper cover is fix proerly with air mass.make sure the oxgen sensor is connect . and the trubo electric adjuster is working ,some modifcation sensor are replace now

coolant temp sensor or airline.

I had the same problem, replaced the coolant temp sensor for £15 and reset the warning light. 2004 1.6 SE. I'll never go back to Audi for a service. They might as well wear balaclavas.

I still have some problems with the idling but I can live with it (or until I know the real reason) - After £100 diagnostic and me suggesting to them what it might be they said they could do nothing. Surely by the number of comments about the same problem it must be a known fault!
