A ford escort 1999 does not have a carburetor fitted ,ask a local mechanic to have a look for you to see whats wrong

I have stihlsaw ts350super i have fitted new piston and cylinder it will run for a short time only when i pour petrol in plug hole when running sounds good


If the chainsaw engine stops after a few seconds, the carburetor might be clogged or have a restriction. If old fuel was left in the chainsaw for a long time some of the volatile ingredients may have evaporated, leaving a thicker, stickier product that is more like varnish. This sticky fuel can clog up the small jets and ports in the carburetor causing the engine to only run for a few seconds. Clean the carburetor with carburetor cleaner. If that isn't effective, rebuild or replace the entire carburetor

2001 Dakota wont start. Died at a red light and would not start back up. Check for trouble codes but had none.


If a vehicle won't start, it's one of two things: no spark, or no fuel. If the vehicle is turning over, you can check for bad coils, distributor cap/points, or bad spark plugs/wires. On the other end, you can check for clogged fuel injectors/carburetor, clogged fuel filter, etc.

Weber carburetor problems


There could be many reasons for your problem but most likely the pilot jet is clogged, there is no voltage on the idle solenoid switch or the solenoid is short or defective.
To solve the problem please do the following:
- Firstly disconnect the solenoid connector, switch on the ignition and measure the harness side voltage with digital multimeter. It should read 11.5 - 12.5 volts. If there is no voltage, check the fuse and wiring.
- If it is found OK, remove the air filter box, remove the carburetor, remove the carburetor top by unscrewing the top Philips type screws.
- Look into the main carburetor body from top, there you would find a brass screw in one of the holes, this is the pilot jet.
- Unscrew the jet with flat type screw driver. Look through it. If you cannot see light through it, it is clogged. Clean it with compressed air.
- Clean up the hole in top plate, clean the whole carburetor and put every thing back nicely.
- Warm up the engine and adjust the idle air mixture and idle speed.

I HAVE A 1988 MUSTANG 5.0 THAT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS. I HAVE PUT NEW PLUGS AND WIRES ,NEW GAS WILL TURN OVER BUT WONT START


Check the fuel pressure at the Carburetor or fuel rail, depending on which you have. Most likely the gas that was in the rail or carburetor has dried out and gummed up the injectors or needle valve holes. To verify, if you have a carburetor you can pour a small amount of gas in the throttle body of the carburetor and try to start it. If it starts that confirms the problem and you will need to clean the carburetor with a rebuild.

Frandosartruns very rich and backfires when accelerator is depressed when it does start it idles fine at 800 rpm


Check the airfilter - might be clogged up. If ok - clean the carb - first from the outside with engine housing cleaner or just WD40. Start only when completely dried. If nothing clean the whole carburetor.

I have a 1983 lincoln town car with a 302 eng...it willn't idle....it will run a little if you acclerate it full throttle


This could be MANY problems. To start with does this 83 Lincoln have a carburetor or fuel injection? If carbureted you may have a clogged carburetor that needs a serious cleaning. The choke could be stuck causing your motor not to get enough oxygen until you step on the accelerator all the way.

Best to have a professional take a look at it. In the mean time I'd suggest switching to a higher octane gas and adding some SEAFOAM to the gas, and into the oil(crankcase) to clean out the fuel system.
