The blue temperature light will blink until the car is up to operating temperature. This is VWs way of telling you to take it easy until the light goes out. If the light stays on all the time you need to have the engine temperature checked to insure that the car is operating in the proper temperature range and if it is then you must check the sensor for the low temp warning system. It may be malfunctioning.

2000 vw beetle 2.0 L, low level coolant light...engine mil code 1256

not the pump but air in the system or a broken wire to the coolant level sensor
that sensor at the top of the radiator tank has to be completely immersed in coolant or the circuit is broken and the light comes on
same effect id the wire to that sensor is broken in the insulation

How to turn off blue blinking radiator temperature light on dash board? I had my catalytic converter replaced and now my temp light is still flashing. Is there a process for turning it off?

Auto part stores can do it for free but The light shouldn't be on if this was fixed by someone with the ODB II like all shops have unless that was not the problem and you still have a problem.

What is the red thermometer symbol?

On my daughter 2000 beetle with 2.0 engine, the blue thermometer light comes on solid when you first crank it up because the coolant/engine is below operating temp. I have seen the red thermometer blink when the coolant is low.

My 95 jetta 2.0 temp light blinks even though I have replaced both the sensor and the overfill tank. Car is not over heating and the gauge reads normal. Connections all are clean and tight. How can I...

There is two sensors-blue for fuel mixture preparation & black with 4 pins for a gauge and overheating control. You told me that you has been change all sensors.Did you put new ones? Also check for engine coolant level sensor on a white plastic tank. there is not another reason for LED to blinking.
