From what I can tell you can get to it by removing the back seat.

How do I change a fuel pump on a 1999 buick regal

The fuel pump is in the gas tank. more than likely you have to drop the tank to remove/replace the pump. I would contact you local dealers service dept. as some of those cars had an access panel under the back seat to access the pump without having to remove the tank.

If you have an access panel, it should be an hour or less job with common hand tools.

the fuel tank needs to be dropped , remove the fuel tank straps, then remove the fuel filler neck, then the connectors from the pump, then with help drop the fuel tank and slide the fuel tank away from the vehicle in case of fire.

then just remove the fuel pump using either the Ford special tool,. or a flat blade screwdriver and hammer to release the fuel pump holder

No power to fuel pump

Good Afternoon, I was wondering if you actually did check power to the pump itself. If you remove the back seat bottom cushion you can get right in there. Also you might want to check the inertia switch to see if it has tripped as well. Hope this helps.

I had fuel tank straps replaced on 1999 Mercury Mystique. next day started having engine problems , replaced fuel filter ran fine couple of days, now its doing it again .I believe its not getting enough...

It could be that in the process of having the fuel tank straps fitted some dirt or rust inside the tank has come loose and clogged the gauze input filter that is part of the fuel pump inside the fuel tank. You will need to remove the pump assembly from the tank. Access to it is usually through a removable plate in the floor under the back seat. Once you have the pump assembly out allow the gauze filter to dry. You can assess the amount of clogging by sining a torch through the gauze and see how much light comes through. Clean it by brushing with an old tooth brush and blowing clean with compressed air. If there is a lot f dirt/rust in the tank, try draining it. You may have to repeat the cleaning process again in few months if the symptoms appear again

Fuel pump replacement for a 1999 mercury sable

The fuel pump is located on top and inside the fuel tank. You must remove the fuel tank in order to replace the fuel filter. Disconnect the battery before dropping the fuel tank.
