Hi, the deep cycle battery is for the home part and should charge through the external connector port. The regular battery is for the engine. Is the regular battery charged up too?

1985 Corvette. Voltmeter is reading low, 11.1. What may be causing this? Time for a new battery?

This means that your alternator is not charging anymore and likely needs to be replaced. You may want to have the battery charged then checked as well. Sometimes a failing battery can cause the alternator to fail because they require a higher charging cycle that can prematurely burn out the alternator.

1985 chrysler 5th ave ran out of gas and now it won't start. When i try, it just does a rapid clicking noise

Sounds like the battery has lost charge. Charge it overnight at 2-4 amp rate. If it now starts ok, measure the battery voltage with the engine idling--it should read 13.5 to 14.5 volts. If it reads less than 12.6 volts, the alternator is not charging the battery. Take the car to an auto parts store and have them test the battery, alternator, and voltage regulator (usually for free). They will be happy to sell you any needed parts. Hope this helps!

Charge light on battery not charging

First thing to do is some basic checks.First, make sure your belt is on and on tight enough. The next step is to verify that there is power to the output post of the alternator. Now check you cable ends on the battery and the ground to the motor. If all the above checks out fine then you need the alternator removed and either repaired or replaced.

Recharging flat elantra battery.

If it is not a hybrid, the battery sould be charged on a slow charger at 2amps for about 12 to 18 hours, this will give it a deep cycle charge that will last.

turn your vehicle on, disconnect the battery, both terminals(while truck is still on) if it dies on you, then either the alternator is bad or wiring is wrong. if it stays on, then you may have a bad battery or voltage regulator. Check the voltage on the battery before you turn it on(should be from 11.5v-12v), when you turn it on if the alternator if working properly you should have around 13v-14v.

Problem w/1988 pace arrow motor home

Don't know if you're still looking for a solution to this or not. The '88 Pace Arrow has THREE batteries. (I have one parked out front). Two of the batteries are connected in parallel and these are the "auxiliary" batteries. The third battery is the motor/start/engine battery. Unless someone has rigged something up, I'd bet your engine battery is missing entirely. The engine battery is responsible for vehicle starting and _anything_ that comes in a normal vehicle... ie everything in the dash. The auxiliary batteries run everything in the back... lights, water pump, etc.

Try pressing the auxiliary start button near the key when you turn on the key and see if anything happens. This is effectively a "self jump start". If it does, I'm sure your engine battery is either bad, not connected properly or missing. If it doesn't, it's probably still a battery issue, but there's probably something else wrong too.
