MY ford 2000 f-350 super duty 10 cyl. Temp gage not working changed sensor, still nothing. what should i look at next

The only other things would be the gauge itself or the wiring to and from the gauge to the sending unit. Make sure the temp sending unit was changed, not the coolant temp sensor, for the computer.

Temp gauge goes to hot and engine looses power.

hi.. your coolant temp sensor may be getting a bad reading, it also opperates as a compensator so it may effect the power of the vehicle.. check that the engine is actualy hot when it says and your car will probably run alot better if you change it anyway..

I don't think you do any thing wrong. I suspect the coolant temperature has a loosed connection, or it is bad. If you are certain that your coolant temperature sensor is good then remove the thermostat to run for 2 days to see the temp reading gauge is normal then buy a new one to put it back. Good Luck.

Trans gauge droped down passed the c today on the hwy and message told me to check trans temp came home turned truck off for an hour started it back up drove around for 45 min temp gauge was between h and...

check it for a short in the wiring harness , check the trans temp with a laser pointer thermo gun before you leave and then after a drive , or when it goes haywire .
sounds like a bad sensor , or may be a sort .

Strange guage surges on Ford 350.

I think the ford 350 might be a loose ground wire. This can cause the erraticness within the gauges.

The windstar is a faulty sensor switch on the brakes master cylinder. It leaks brake fluid into the wires that are connected to it causeing a short circuit and resulting in a blown fuse that powers the AC, cruise control, odometer, speedometer and the ABS light to remain on. This issue can also cause a fire. This fire can occur even when the car is off. To fix the problem go to this URL - http://www.fordwindstarrecall.info/
