Question about Chevrolet Silverado 1500

2 Answers

My 1997 chevy k1500 blew a fuse to the fuel pump so i replaced it and it ran till i moved the truck 50 ft. It kept blowing the same fuse till i got out of traffic. now it blows as soon as you hit the key. i hooked up the fuel pump bypass and the pump runs good. Could my pump be drawing to many amps even though it runs in bypass mode?

Sounds to me like a possible wire is grounding through worn insulation.

2001 chevy malibu fuel pump fuse keeps blowing

Usually a sign of a faulty pump, or a problem in the wiring between the relay and the gas tank.
You could unplug the harness at the tank to verify.

When this happens the fuel pump most of the time has a short in it.

Chevy silverado keeps blowing fuses

Your 20 amp fuse will not blow if glowplug wire shorts. each plug draws 15 amps which is 120 amps total.I think there are in line fuses for them. Try to wring out where each output from the fuse goes, disconnect all and reconnect one at a time till it blows. That should point to your problem process of illumination! Good Luck!!
