EINGINE REPLACED 95k ENGINE WITH 55K ENGINE. 55K ENGINE RECENTLY BLEW VALVES AND REPLACED WITH ANOTHER ENGINE. RANDOMLY WHEN ACCELERATE FROM STOP ENGINE SPUTTERS AND THEN DIES. SOME TIMES WHEN CAR IS MOVING AND YOU ACCELERATE THE ENGINE DIES. DOES NOT DO THIS CONSTANTLY. BUT IS DANGEROUS DUE TO NOT KNOWING WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. ANY IDEAS ON WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.
    THANKS.

I t sounds like a fuel problem.Check fuel filter if thats ok Test for pressure and volume. If ok then start with coil spark out put. ? When it acts up ,engine hot or cold . or both.

make sure spark plugs and wires been replaced.replace distributor cap and rotor.replace fuel filter in the carburetor in let nut to fuel line.also check carburetor automatic choke plate make it closed during start up and open as engine warm up.but the choke need to closed when you first start engine up in the morning. i had same car years back you had to pump accelerator pedal twice then start engine. had be careful easy flood out carb engines.

Erratic engine rpm, dies and wont restart

Plug in diagnostic computer for trouble codes if any.
Check condition of air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs and leads.

Aside from those listed above, other common causes of poor idle or stalling can include the manifold pressure sensor and especially the MAF (mass Air Flow sensor.)

2002 monte engin dies while driving every once in awhile

first i would check the fuel pressure when it dies. These pumps have been known to stop working when they warm up.Need to see if you are loosing spark or fuel when it dies.Does it restart right away or only after it cools.

1998 Monte Carlo 3.1 liter stalled out making horrible noise only code coming up is PO305 which is #5 cylinder misfire, what could be the cause wires and coil have spark number 5

dont know what the noise is with out more discripttion but if you have spark and the plug is good it might be a bad injector or the intake gaskets may be leaking and leting the anti freeze leak in common for 3.1 is it hard to start and when you say stalled is that driving or parked or starting the car and it dies back out?

ENGINE SPUTTER AND DIES ON ACCELERATION

check your fuel filter, take an air compressor and blow air through the "in" end if no or little air is coming through then just replace the filter, if fuel filter is ok then try a fuel additive to clean your injectors which are a very common problem when the engine gets gunky build up on them

My car was doing the same thing. It would stall out while idling or even turning a corner. I ended up replacing a few sensors but the problem was the fuel injector pressure regulator. The check engine light never came on. It was leaking fuel through the vacuum side of the diaphragm. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator and if there are any traces of gasoline it needs to be replaced.
