Is the water tank the windshield washer fluid or the radiator overflow tank??

If it is the washer fluid tank, fill it with "below 32F" type fluid. If it is the radiator over flow tank, it would appear to me that the radiator fluid is too watered down or weak and is not freeze resistant. The radiator fluid should be 50/50 mix of Prestone or other make of radiator fluid and water. This is to save your engine and radiator from bursting. Ice takes up move volume that water (this is why Ice floats on water). Inside of a pipe, radiator or engine block, this can be devisating. You could crack your radiator or engine block. Hopefully who ever serviced your car last used the correct fluid. You might want to get this checked before more damage happens to your car.

Hope this helps.

it is the radiator overflow tank that burst. the other thing is am in Africa

I am assuming South Africa? And that freezing is not a problem since it is summer now. When you said the pipes are bursting, I thought of when I use to live in Minnesota and the severe freezing would burst plastic and metal pipes. I am surprised that the plastics in a BMW would be failing just only after 10 years. I still would suggest flushing out your fluid to and replacing it with the recommended fluid just to make sure there is nothing eating up the plastics when your replace your parts. I hope you get your BMW up and running again.

Why would it burst a pipe after getting new water pump fitted?

water pipes burst from 2 reasons
one is that they are too old and have cracked the binding inside the rubber
two is excessive pressure from a head gasket/cracked head problem
if the hoses are larger than the clamp, they will burst
if they have been removed incorrectly the fabric in the rubber gets torn and they will burst
if the pump was fitted incorrectly , then high pressure from overheating will make them burst

How do I bypass my heater core on a 1995 318i bmw,it has three plastic prongs on the fire wall an the first o. Broke so I tried to put the hose as far back as I can an now it over heats ways wrong

Most cars have a hose taking hot water from the motor to the heater, and also a return line that takes water back to the engine.
If you can figure out which one is which, ( the one should squirt water out strongly) take a short length of plastic pipe or metal tubing and 2 stainless steel band clamps and couple the two hoses together so the water comes from the engine and goes right back to the engine.
God bless your efforts.

Hi. Normally if the pipes or hoses are too old, it's normal to get burst especially if your car is lack of Service Maintenance. Another thing is if the engine is overheating and the expansion tank cap is faulty (stuck Close), the weakest parts of cooling system will burst.
When you replaced the damage parts I suggest you to replace Thermostat Valves as will. Also I would suggest after the repair to do Cooling System Pressure Test encloding Expansion Tank Cap pressure test, Bleed cooling system properly, Monitor Coolingling Fan and Engine Temperature Operation.
I hope this tip will help you to solve your problem and if it's still existing I hope you don't mind to inform me and I'll try my best to help you as much as I can.
Thanks and good luck
