Question about 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Hi, this is about my moms grand cherokee 93. The steering colummn/shaft has been disconnected from the steering wheel. it is somehow easily pulled out of place and the steering wheel goes loose and with no control over the wheels. this happened twice already, and i could only push the column back towards the steering wheel just by expanding it, but it doesnt seem to click anywhere or go any deeper. how can i do to make it stay in place? because i went to see other cars same brand and year to a junk yard, and the column its fixed to the steering wheel somehow, (tried to pull it out by hand and stayed in place) and if i do it in my moms car the column would come enough far enough to that it disconnects from the steering wheel.
Is the steering wheel its self coming up or the shaft were it connects in the floor coming up. This would help me solve your problem . If its the wheel there is a 18mm nut behind the air bag that holds the steering to shaft.
2ND If it is in the floor shaft there should be a bolt holding the two shafts together, you might have to pull carpet back to see if bolt is in the slot that holds the two shafts together.
If i can be any help just repost. Thanks, dodge tec
