Base ignition timing is not adjustable. The distributors do NOT have centrifugal or vacuum advance. Instead, base ignition timing and its Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls advance on each of these engines.

2010 dodge journey 3.5 liter stays in open loop mode all the time runs horrible

To go into closed loop the computer needs to see engine coolant at operating temperature and rapidly changing oxygen sensor signals. So check the O2 sensor readings. The sensors have a built in heater so they can start reading faster. If the heater isn't working, they'll be slow to read. Also, a stuck open thermostat can delay closed loop

2005 dodge ram 1500 hemi. will set code 0132 when starting only some times. O2 replaced both sides.

Try changing the coolant temp sensor, it determines when the ECU shifts from open loop (cold) to closed loop(hot)

My 97 sebring xli 2.5l v6 wont fire,timing belt is intact,have spark,have fuel,but wont fire,any suggestions?

Probably the ECM. Lot's of checks to make to see if that is it. Does it try to fire up if ether is squirted in the intake? Is the security light on? Does the dash say "No Bus" Does the fuel pump come on?

If it has a security system don't bother with a junk yard ECM, the car will kill it. Run for 4 seconds and die.

Place in south Florida specializes in Dodge Reman ECM's guaranteed to work with the security system.

Replaced front seal on my '97 Dodge Ram 1500, V6

Assembly of converter to trans and then tunit to engine? The torque converter must engage and slide into the front pump. The seal is easily damamaged if not properly fitted.Once the trans is against the engine the converter can be slid forward to bolt the flex plste. There should not be more than approx. 1/4 inch between the converter and trans bell housing if the converter is properly mated to the trans. Good Luck, Ned.

How to set timing on a 97 chevy pickup truck v6 4.3

there is no routine timing adjustment for the 4.3L engine, timing is controlled by the computer. If you are talking about timing after replacing the distributor, there is just the basic rotor alignment to No.1 cylinder with the engine at TDC.

Engine swap, I have a 97 1500 2wd V6, I am putting in a 98 318, I need to know where I can get wiring color codes because none of the wiring matches up from the two trucks. If I use the 98 PCM, can I use...

to do this job correctly you will need to uso a igntion and computer from a 318 truck . the v6 used a coil pac and the v8 uses a single coil this would be the best way to go and will save you a lot of problems later
