    ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Hello John;
Just quit and won't start. So stated not having ignition spark. Is this engine HEI OR POINTS? i'LL ADDRESS BOTH. tHE HEIHAS NO POINTS AND THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF YOUR SPECIFIC PROBLEMPROBLEM IS THE ROTOR BURNS THROUGH ITS CENTER CAUSING LOSS OF INSULATION AND INSTEAD OF THE SPARK GOING to the plugs it shorts to the distributor shaft. Remedy-- Replace Distributor rotor and the distributor cap. Should start. The points type has a condensor wire to the points. With the ignition on, use a small screw driver to open and close the points. If the points spark (won't be high voltage)as you open and close, the condensor is no good. Remedy- Replace points and condensor. Note both failure types are the result of spark plug demand and or poor plug wires. Good Luck, Ned

Possibly an ignition module or crank sensor problem. These are the two most common stalling electronics that will cause a stall when they get warm/hot and will then continue to operate once cooled down

We recently worked on a buick century with the same problem. we replaced the spark plugs and made sure the spark plug wires where on their tight and it ran like new. i hope this helps. BE CAREFUL AND DRIVE SAFE.

The engine occasionally "chucks' and

clean the throttle plate & the idle air control valve,, be careful not to damage the mass air flow. choke and carb cleaner works fine.

Stalls when warm , no start when warm

What you need to do is when it stalls out then check to see if your loosing fuel or spark.Check for spark at the spark plugs.don`t just check one.Check all the front 3 a least. If no spark then you probably have a bad ignition module. It is under the coils.Good luck.

1992 Buick LeSabre Custom....180K on the odometer...stalls at low speeds....sometimes at highway speeds without warning...error code 17 is popular...I have a 41 also but the magnet has been missing 2 years...

dont know what the code are w/out looking them up however i do know that is a common problem when ignition coils or 1 ign coil goes bad. or distributor shaft wears out, which i dont think 92 buicks have. your 92 buick should be ign. coils . ignition coils need tested at a auto part store.most are free test call them to make sure.

Buick century 1993 stalls while driving After driving for a while the car stalls out. It's dangerous because sometimes I'm on a highway. It starts immediately after that and goes a bit then stalls again....

i had the same problem with my 92 exept after mine stalled it wouldnt start for 20 - 30 mins... mine ended up needing a transmission flush for the stalling problem and i tried to drive everyday that helped
hope this helps in some way

Continous surging and stalling

Per your description, I would suspect a fuel pump issue. When the fuel pump is running the pump impeller heats up. On an older pump the impeller can begin to seize up and momentarily stops and starts. Some times it just stops and has to cool down for a couple of minutes, then is ok for a while.
To test this theory, when the engine stalls and stops, your mechanic can use a rubber mallet and hit the bottom of the gas tank, this will free the pump impeller and the car will start again.
Or, have him install a fuel pressure gauge and go for a drive. If the pressure begins to fluctuate and drop, you know the pump is causing the issue.
Good luck, let me know.

1999 Buck Regal Stalls While Driving

Possible solution to stalling '99 Buick. My '99 Buick Century would die for no apparant reason with no error codes. After 4 days at a Buick dealership and many frustrated mechanics, the problem was corrosion from under the battery location. The wiring harness had small amounts of corrosion internally. Check the wiring under the battery for any corrosion. This has been the problem on more than 1 vehicle that we are aware of. No service bulletin has been issued by Buick.

Engine looses spark and stalls after warming up 15 min.

I had the same thing happen to a friend's car. It had a code 42. I replaced the ignition module and hasn't stalled since.

I did some research online and found a few others that had the same problem and all of them suggested to replace the module. Sounds like it is a common issue.
