Question about 2000 Buick Century

1 Answer

My 2000 Buick Century Custom heater/ac fan stopped working. I can feel a little heat coming through the vents so I think the heater coil and water circulation are okay. But, its cold these days, and I need the forced circulation to get enough heat to keep warm. I'm thinking maybe the fuse or the belt needs replacement, but I need "how to" information. Pls advise. Also, if you have any other ideas, Pls share. Many thanks, . . Dragon

It does sound like the heater motor fuse is blown -- but if you check it and it is good ( not blown ) then it could be the heater motor itself or even the heater switch/relay. check all the wires going to the heater motor. -- try and give the motor body a little love tap,, ( this sometimes works ) and tells ya that the motor has a bad conection or the brushes are bad.

Imy 98 buick is overheating the water comes out from the pasenger side inside da car..right under the glove box

That is where your Heater core is located. Its like a little radiater that your vents blow thru to get hot air for heating your interior. If thats leaking, its not gunna stop. Take this car in right away before you run your coolent dry and trash your car.

Very little heat from heater truck can be running for long time very little heat comes out

You HVAC unit is not getting the heat from your engine coolant. A valve is stuck or there is blockage in the heat exchanger core. I'm assuming you fan and vent divertors/Controls are working correctly. Does AC work?

Water on floor board on passenger side of 1991 Buick Century

Engine coolant will feel oily and the windshield will fog up and the car will stink. If it is just water it could be coming from the passenger door weatherstrip at top. The ac drain tube , if stopped up will also leak water in the floorboard.

AC/Heating/Vent Not Working Correct

you have to remove the dash covering your vent system. You need to find the flap and controls that handle the flap. One of these flaps have been jarred. Put it back in place and make sure the cables all work correctly

Heater is dead

My 2000 century heater blower died, dont replace the fan motor until you check with a simple test light to see if the heater fan resistor is bad first,it's only 20 bucks to replace. Its located next to the fan housing up against the firewall. The wires from the fan switch go down to the resistor, check to see if switch has power then check for power down at the resistor,I'll bet its the resistor. There are three, I think five sixteenth screws to remove the resistor one is crammed up very tight on the firewall, you'll need a quarter inch drive extension with a wobbly socket to get that one against the firewall.
