No, there were multiple changes and interchanges between 94 and 99. You may be able to locate a used one near you by using car-part.com

welcome to modern cars, the newer cars have a TCM.
you can just swap a mech, trans for a electronically swifted trans.
I swapped, you meant.
its not clear what you are doing here,.
why are you swapping engines
and are you expecting both cars to run? which makes above line odd.
no?

93 toyota camry v6 engine idles then stalls out then idles again only to stall every few seconds ...when driving it feels like the car has a slow start from the light and then picks up then looses power...

I have a 94 Camry which did this. There were no trouble codes stored in the ECM to give me a clue either, but that is still the first thing if you have not done so already - get a readout of trouble codes if any. In theUS Autozone will do that for you.

What it was in my 94, was the ECM itself had become faulty,. It had to be diagnosed by swapping in a replacement. If you do so, get one from a wrecker, with a short-time guarantee, for the exact same engine and transmission.

Can I swap the engine from a 1995 Toyota Camry to a 1994; same model, same engine/trans?

ye s95 and 94 have the same engine just make sure they are the same size engine and swap em you wont have to do anything with the computer side. 94, 95 did not have anything run by the PCM such as anti theift training.

Does the 3.0l transmission fit on the 4.0l engine

Hiya,

There are 5 automatic transmissions used in the Ford Ranger, Explorer and Mountaineer. They may be identified by checking the transmission code on the Safety Standard Certification Label attached to the driver's side door post, in the space marked Trans. The transmissions can also be identified by a tag attached to the lower left hand extension attaching bolt. The transmission codes are as follows:
  • 1991–94 code T is for the A4LD transmission
  • 1995–99 code T is for the 4R44E (2.3L, 2.5L & 3.0L) or 4R55E (4.0L) transmission
  • 1996–99 code U is for the 4R70W (5.0L) transmission
  • 1997–99 code D is for the 5R55E (5-speed automatic) transmission
So, what you need to do now is...establish from a FORD workshop, whether both the A4LD and 4R55E transmissions share the same components and mounting dimensions.

Cheers,

Scott

Can I use a 1995 Dakota 2X4 3.9 V6 to swap the engine into my 1999 Dakota 4X4 Sport? If so do I have to do mods for emissions and such. Also any other parts I can use to swap over?

You will probably need the ECM and all the electronics unless you have a 3.9 in your 99. The Engine management will be different. as will the transmission and powertrain computers of each truck(2vs4 wheel drive, different differental gears). It is best when doing a swap to have both vechicals in case you need something else. Then you need patience and extra cash.

4l60e tranny swap

No the 4l60e is a electronic transmission you need to find a 700r4 transmission which are very common. Check with your local junk yards and are pretty easy to install. About a full days worth of work for a person with general know how of vehicles.
