Question about 1989 GMC K1500

1 Answer

I have a 1989 gmc jimmy full size, 350 5.7 liter fuel injected. the truck runs great and has a perfect idle. but when im on the interstate going 65 mph or more, it sometimes will act like i all of a sudden let off the gas and immediately pushed back down on the gas, and when it does this i hear a single loud tick noise like a spark hitting my firewall. i replaced my plug wires cap and rotor. what else could it be?

1989 Jimmy S15, 3/4 350. I want to change the timing? I have added an HHO generator and need to forward the timing to get fuel saving benefits.

Loosen the bolt at the base of the distributer on the passenger's side. If you don't have a timing light, mark the dist and intake manifold so you can put it back exactly where it was in the event of a problem. Turn the dist counter-clockwise just a tiny bit and the idle should raise a little.

The inline fuel pump fuse on the passenger side firewall is good? Are you jumping it with 12 volts at the test lead or the fuse?
