Sounds like your thermostat or water pump has failed and it is time for a new one.

What to do when 2006 Chrysler Pacifica engine temp warning light comes on?

Do not continue to operate. Operating an overheated engine will cause the engine to fail.

After the engine has cooled,
Confirm that the engine has coolant.
Confirm that the reservoir is full to the mark
Start engine and confirm as engine gets warm cooling fan at radiator turns on

Confirm that the rubber engine belt is working
Put in car heater to full hot and blower on.
Confirm heat is hot from car heater.
If heater is not hot possible water pump failure or air in coolant system keeping the coolant from circulating.
Allow to cool completely.
Remove cap start engine and observe coolant flowing at or near cap. Observe bubbling or exhaust gases coming from radiator

Check for water in oil by pulling dip stick
  • White smoke from the exhaust pipe
  • Overheating engine
  • Bubbles in the radiator or coolant overflow tank
  • White milky oil
  • Significant loss of coolant with no visible leaks
If milky likely a blown head gasket

Hope this helps?

Temperature gauge needle issue

It is not overheating that is well within the normal range. If the engine gets to hot you will get a check engine warning light.

It takes a long time to feel the heat come on in my 2000 Chrysler Grand Voyager. What could be going on?

Check or have your thermostat replaced, could be stuck in the open position, will take a long time be for the engine gets to normal operating temp.

Car is overheating within minutes of driving it, changed the thermostat but the problem is getting worse...

open radiator cap, start engine, fill with coolant, look for bubbles coming up. If combustion gasses come out of radiator, you have a blown head gasket. let me know if this isn't it or you have other questions.

I have just bought a 2007 grand voyager 2.8crd. in p or n it wont rev over 2500rpm is this normal? also when you try there is a whistling sound? turbo? is there a turbo. also the cabin heater light keeps...

The vehicle DOES have a rev limiter when in P or N. The whistle is the governor allowing air into the intake to detune the engine to linit the revs. The cabin heater light is for the AUX CABIN HEATER. It is diesel powered and will light when operating to maintain the set cabin temp. It has its own exhaust that comes out under the side of the vehicle. It can even run for a few minutes after the vehicle is turned off. That is normal.

Chrysler voyager 2.8crd diesel warning noise and undefinedcontrol

This is just the cabin heater light, it tells you that the electric cabin heater is active and the alarm sound is normal this contiunes until this heater has cooled down again usually 5-10 mins after the engine has reached operating temp. or if you turn off the ign. berfore engine reaches temp. This heater works as a booster to the normal heater matrix fitted that works off the engine coolant temp. or as the sole heater if engine is cold when outside temp is low (ie oct - may) and there is more than 100 miles or 1/4 tank of fuel left.
